Mr. Lookup is built to deliver visual search while keeping data handling simple and respectful. This page explains what is processed when you use the app and why.
You can use Mr. Lookup without creating an account. We do not ask for or store personal identifiers such as your name, email, phone number, or government ID.
This information is used only to complete your request. It is not used for ads, profiling, or behavioral tracking.
The app compares your image with content available on publicly accessible sources across the internet. It does not access private, restricted, or paid services. Results may link to third-party websites that we do not control.
When you use the app's face search feature, the photo you select or capture is treated as face data. This section explains specifically how that photo is collected, used, shared, stored, and deleted.
What is collected: Only the photo you choose to search with. We do not extract or separately store facial geometry, biometric templates, or other derived facial identifiers on our own servers.
How it is used: The photo is used solely to perform the face search you requested. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or training machine learning models.
Sharing with third parties: To perform your search, the photo is shared with our third-party search providers, SerpApi (reverse image search) and FaceCheck.id (face search), solely to identify matches on your behalf. These providers process the photo under their own privacy and data-handling terms.
Storage and retention: The photo is temporarily stored on our server while your search is processed. It is automatically and permanently deleted from our server within 5 minutes of the search completing. We do not keep a permanent copy.
Deletion: Deletion from our server happens automatically; no action is required from you.
Images are not used for identity recognition beyond the face search you requested, advertising, or training machine learning models.
We keep data only as long as needed to complete your request. Images, including face data, are processed temporarily and are automatically deleted within 5 minutes of your search completing. We do not keep a permanent copy on our servers.
Any optional history remains on your device and can be cleared at any time.
The app may request access to your camera and photo library so you can capture or select images. You can allow or revoke these permissions in your device settings at any time.
To keep the app stable, we may collect limited technical information such as device type, OS version, and crash logs. This data does not include your images and is not linked to your identity.
We may send notifications related to app functionality or important updates. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
If you choose to purchase premium features, payments are processed by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment details—only your subscription status.
Once removed, the data is no longer accessible to us.
Mr. Lookup is not intended for children under 13. If we become aware of data from a child, it will be deleted.
We apply reasonable safeguards to protect data during transmission and processing. No system is completely secure, but we continually work to improve protections.
This Privacy Notice may change over time. Updates will be reflected by a new effective date. Continued use of the app means you accept the updated version.
